Challenge

With approximately 15,000 early career candidates annually in Europe and growing year after year, Mondelez sought to create a European-wide early career framework to assess candidates in a fair and consistent way across markets, as well as implement an engaging, DEI-focused assessment solution throughout the process. Previous methods and tools used to assess candidates were inconsistent and outdated, needing to be refreshed to fit the multiple functional areas in which they recruit.

Solution

With a thorough understanding of their business and the challenges they faced, Talogy stood out as the partner of choice during a tender selection. Talogy’s practical experience with similar-sized organisations and global presence enabled a personalised approach to a multinational process. The team proposed an end-to-end offering to rebuild Mondelez’s early careers competency framework using insights from current graduates, managers, and key stakeholders to create a foundational framework of eight key competencies.

With this framework in place, Talogy then configured on online assessment solution that encompassed Factors (personality), Logiks (cognitive ability), and Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) for graduates, followed by video interviews and virtual assessment centres with customised exercises. The exercises were all tailored by Talogy experts to highlight the key competencies for different roles, ensuring a strong assessment–role fit. After the assessment, Talogy provided assessor and candidate reports to help Mondelez make informed decisions and select the right candidates to further their selection process for hiring graduates.

Results

Over the past three years, Mondelez has exceeded their DEI target around gender equality. The flexibility of the assessments has continued to meet the needs of the business, successfully adapting to functional differences as needed.

“In partnership with Mondelez, we built a customised assessment process that carefully balances candidate engagement with meaningful talent insights. This way we managed to minimise drop-out rates, while optimising the objective selection of the best early careers talents for Mondelez.” – Alison Fishlock, Senior Client Partner at Talogy.
