Challenge

A multinational engineering company headquartered in Denmark, with over 40,000 employees spread across more than 100 countries, approached Talogy seeking support to strengthen its leaders and make its values of trust, diversity, and inclusion more tangible within their leadership teams. A recent reorganisation found three-fourths of their senior leaders in a new position in a company that has almost doubled in size in recent years. And there was an opportunity to enhance the current leadership’s strength in both becoming a professional service provider to clients and a strategic partner for the business.

Solution

Talogy offered a leadership development programme tailored to the manufacturing industry and a flexible operational approach, ensuring a 100% fit to the client’s needs. A full leadership development programme was implemented spanning almost an entire year and impacted more than 40 individuals. With two focus areas: individual development and team development.

The individual development part included a personal “Illumination & Insights” session which involved psychometric measures and an in-depth interview uncovering individual strengths and development areas. The Emotional Intelligence Profile (EIP3) was used as a supporting tool for personal reflection with individual development plans and coaching sessions by Talogy consultants. The team development part included workshops and training to energise and enable leaders with regards to the client’s new strategic aimpoint. Both areas of development were embedded in constant project support and touchpoints like progress evaluations, peer coaching, 1:1 dialogue with leaders, among other avenues.

Results

At the individual level, participants appreciated the opportunity to reflect on their new roles, share their challenges and receive feedback, have personalised support, and peer coaching. As one of the participants of the program summarised, “the individual sessions with Talogy consultants have been very valuable”.

At the team level, the program helped to better understand the vision of the DGIT Transformation and increase commitment of the participants to contribute to the implementation of the transformation.

A survey called the Progress Monitor was run to measure the progress of the Transformation. During the first survey, 93% of the participants agreed to understanding the vision and goals of the DGIT Transformation. That increased to 96% after we ran individual sessions and did a repeat survey 3 months later.

The workshops helped identify key issues and areas to focus on for the whole team’s development, and these topics have been addressed in subsequent sessions. Overall, Talogy’s partnership has had a positive impact on moving the team to the next level of leading the DGIT Transformation of the whole  organisation.
