l&rsquo;OSHA ont essentiellement atteint un plateau avec une r\u00e9duction de moins de 3&nbsp;% au cours de cette p\u00e9riode. En outre, selon le Department of Labor, plus de la moiti\u00e9 des 3&nbsp;millions de cas \u00e0 consigner dans le secteur priv\u00e9 \u00e9taient de nature plus grave et impliquaient des jours d&rsquo;arr\u00eat de travail et un transfert ou une restriction d&#8217;emploi.<sup>1<\/sup> En 2012, ces cas se sont produits \u00e0 un taux de 1,8&nbsp;cas pour 100&nbsp;collaborateurs \u00e0 temps plein, statistiquement inchang\u00e9 depuis 2009. Les initiatives de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 traditionnelles ax\u00e9es sur la formation, les politiques et l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie ont un certain impact, mais elles ne suffisent pas si votre objectif ultime est le \u00ab&nbsp;Z\u00e9ro accident&nbsp;\u00bb.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;un des principaux d\u00e9fauts des initiatives de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 est qu&rsquo;elles abordent la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un point de vue technique plut\u00f4t que personnel. Personne ne pose la question simple qui est&nbsp;: \u00ab Quelle que soit la formation, certains individus sont-ils naturellement plus respectueux en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 que d&rsquo;autres, et si oui, pourquoi&nbsp;?&nbsp;\u00bb Intuitivement, nous savons que la r\u00e9ponse est oui&nbsp;! Pourtant, plus important encore, il existe maintenant des donn\u00e9es scientifiques qui montrent \u00e0 quel point les individus diff\u00e8rent en termes de traits psychologiques, connus sous le nom de Safety<em>DNA<\/em>, qui sont les plus \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;exposition et aux comportements \u00e0 risque. En comprenant son Safety<em>DNA<\/em>, les individus deviennent proactifs dans la r\u00e9duction de leur risque de blessure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme de d\u00e9veloppement Safety<em>DNA<\/em>\u00ae est une puissante solution de culture s\u00e9curit\u00e9 qui \u00e9value avec pr\u00e9cision le Safety<em>DNA<\/em> des individus. Une fois \u00e9valu\u00e9s, les individus participent \u00e0 l&rsquo;atelier pour en savoir plus sur les traits qui composent leur Safety<em>DNA<\/em>. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce processus, les participants deviennent de plus en plus conscients de la fa\u00e7on dont ces traits de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 peuvent r\u00e9duire ou augmenter leur exposition au risque. L&rsquo;atelier est exp\u00e9rientiel, ce qui signifie que les participants apprennent rapidement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des simulations \u00e0 quel point ils r\u00e9agissent diff\u00e9remment aux expositions et, plus important encore, comment cela a un impact sur la probabilit\u00e9 qu&rsquo;ils soient bless\u00e9s. Apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;atelier, les participants suivent de br\u00e8ves s\u00e9ances de coaching pour recevoir leurs r\u00e9sultats Safety<em>DNA<\/em> de la part d&rsquo;un coach certifi\u00e9. Au cours de cette s\u00e9ance, ils d\u00e9couvrent leur profil de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 personnel, explorent leurs expositions au travail et se concentrent sur les comportements en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 r\u00e9alisables qui r\u00e9duiront directement leurs risques. Ce qui rend ce programme de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 personnelle efficace, c&rsquo;est sa simplicit\u00e9 et l&rsquo;accent mis sur chaque individu ayant un Safety<em>DNA<\/em> unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c9tude<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude visait \u00e0 \u00e9valuer l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 du programme de d\u00e9veloppement Safety<em>DNA<\/em> dans la r\u00e9duction des incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants. Les incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants comprenaient les blessures \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA, les visites chez le m\u00e9decin hors site, les dommages mat\u00e9riels et les accidents de v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 moteur. L&rsquo;\u00e9valuation Safety<em>DNA<\/em> a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de 898&nbsp;salari\u00e9s d&rsquo;une grande usine de traitement chimique aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Ces salari\u00e9s ont ensuite particip\u00e9 \u00e0 un atelier et ont suivi des s\u00e9ances de coaching personnel. L&rsquo;ensemble de ce processus est appel\u00e9 programme de d\u00e9veloppement Safety<em>DNA<\/em>. Les incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour chaque personne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consign\u00e9s trois mois avant et trois mois apr\u00e8s les s\u00e9ances de coaching personnel.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9sultats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le graphique ci-dessous montre le nombre total d&rsquo;incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants avant et apr\u00e8s le programme de d\u00e9veloppement Safety<em>DNA<\/em>. N\u00e9anmoins, ces personnes ont connu 64&nbsp;% d&rsquo;incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants en moins au cours de la p\u00e9riode de trois mois post programme de d\u00e9veloppement Safety<em>DNA<\/em>. De plus, lorsque nous avons compar\u00e9 les salari\u00e9s occupant des emplois \u00e0 haut risque et \u00e0 faible risque, les r\u00e9sultats \u00e9taient presque identiques.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une r\u00e9duction des taux d&rsquo;accidents de cette ampleur n&rsquo;est pas simplement significative sur le plan statistique&nbsp;: plus important encore, les personnes dont nous nous occupons ont appris \u00e0 r\u00e9duire leurs expositions et, par cons\u00e9quent, la probabilit\u00e9 de se blesser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon l&rsquo;OSHA, le co\u00fbt direct moyen d&rsquo;un accident \u00e0 consigner est d&rsquo;environ 46&nbsp;000&nbsp;$. En utilisant les estimations de l&rsquo;OSHA, ces neuf incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants en moins repr\u00e9sentent une \u00e9conomie directe de 414&nbsp;000&nbsp;$. Compte tenu des co\u00fbts indirects associ\u00e9s \u00e0 de tels incidents, ce chiffre pourrait \u00eatre multipli\u00e9 par quatre.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les incidents ne n\u00e9cessitant que des premiers soins ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 suivis dans l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, avec peu de changement entre avant et apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;intervention. Ainsi, bien que le programme n&rsquo;ait pas eu d&rsquo;impact significatif sur les incidents mineurs, il a eu un effet spectaculaire sur les blessures graves.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le graphique pr\u00e9sente les incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 importants par type.
