Une petite coupure qui ne n\u00e9cessite rien de plus qu&rsquo;un antiseptique et un pansement et une coupure grave qui n\u00e9cessite 50&nbsp;points de suture et cause des dommages aux tendons et cinq jours de repos plus un mois de travail r\u00e9duit sont toutes deux des blessures. La premi\u00e8re, cependant, n&rsquo;est pas consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un incident \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA,contrairement \u00e0 la seconde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon les donn\u00e9es du Bureau am\u00e9ricain des statistiques du travail (Bureau of Labor Statistics), un peu plus de la moiti\u00e9 des 3,7&nbsp;millions de cas de blessures et de maladies dans le secteur priv\u00e9 signal\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle nationale en 2010 \u00e9taient de nature plus grave et impliquaient des jours d&rsquo;absence, un transfert de poste ou une restriction &#8211; commun\u00e9ment appel\u00e9s cas DART<sup>i<\/sup>. En d&rsquo;autres termes, plus de 50&nbsp;% de toutes les blessures \u00e9taient suffisamment graves pour entra\u00eener une perte de travail, une restriction des t\u00e2ches au retour et\/ou un transfert hors du poste d&rsquo;origine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien qu&rsquo;il existe de nombreux facteurs qui contribuent aux incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, il est clair que certaines personnes sont plus susceptibles que d&rsquo;autres d&rsquo;adopter des comportements dangereux et \u00e0 haut risque. Par exemple, 20&nbsp;% des conducteurs sont \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de pr\u00e8s de 80&nbsp;% de tous les accidents de la route<sup>ii<\/sup>. Ce mod\u00e8le 80\/20 est similaire \u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;on trouve dans d&rsquo;autres secteurs pour les comportements n\u00e9fastes, y compris la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. En tant qu&#8217;employeur, la cl\u00e9 est de disposer d&rsquo;un moyen pr\u00e9cis d&rsquo;identifier ces personnes \u00e0 haut risque au d\u00e9but du process de recrutement avant qu&rsquo;elles ne deviennent des salari\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9valuation Safety<em>DNA<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e sp\u00e9cifiquement pour \u00e9valuer la probabilit\u00e9 qu&rsquo;une personne ait un comportement dangereux et des risques \u00e9lev\u00e9s d&rsquo;incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9. L&rsquo;\u00e9valuation est bas\u00e9e sur le mod\u00e8le \u00e0 quatre facteurs Safety<em>DNA<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9valuation, ainsi que l&rsquo;atelier de r\u00e9flexion qui l&rsquo;accompagne, est principalement utilis\u00e9e comme outil de d\u00e9veloppement pour aider les salari\u00e9s actuels \u00e0 mieux comprendre leurs facteurs de risque pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9, augmentant ainsi la sensibilisation et modifiant les comportements. Cependant, elle peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e comme filtre efficace en amont dans le process de recrutement pour \u00e9vincer les candidats \u00e0 haut risque avant qu&rsquo;ils n&rsquo;entrent dans l&rsquo;organisation. Cet article se concentre sur l&rsquo;exactitude de l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation Safety<em>DNA<\/em> pour identifier les individus dans cette cat\u00e9gorie \u00e0 haut risque et l&rsquo;impact sur les r\u00e9sultats de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 r\u00e9els.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le cadre d&rsquo;une \u00e9tude plus vaste, nous avons soumis l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation Safety<em>DNA<\/em> \u00e0 un groupe de 796&nbsp;salari\u00e9s horaires de trois organisations diff\u00e9rentes repr\u00e9sentant le p\u00e9trole et le gaz, la fabrication de produits en papier et la fabrication de mat\u00e9riaux de construction. Des informations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 obtenues concernant le nombre d&rsquo;incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ainsi que la gravit\u00e9 de ces incidents sur une p\u00e9riode de 36&nbsp;mois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9sultats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En tant qu&rsquo;outil de pr\u00e9s\u00e9lection, l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation fournit une note finale par cat\u00e9gorie bas\u00e9e sur un composite des trois facteurs de s\u00e9curit\u00e9&nbsp;: \u00c0 risque, \u00c0 surveiller pour conformit\u00e9 et S\u00fbr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur les 796&nbsp;personnes test\u00e9es, il y a eu 179&nbsp;incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9&nbsp;; 60 ont entra\u00een\u00e9 des blessures et 37 de ces blessures \u00e9taient suffisamment graves pour \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA. La figure&nbsp;1 montre le pourcentage d&rsquo;individus dans chaque cat\u00e9gorie de risque Safety<em>DNA<\/em> qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 impliqu\u00e9s dans un incident ayant entra\u00een\u00e9 une blessure. La barre dor\u00e9e de la figure&nbsp;1 montre le pourcentage de toutes les blessures (\u00e0 la fois mineures et graves) et la barre bleue repr\u00e9sente le pourcentage impliqu\u00e9 dans les blessures (graves) \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA. Par rapport \u00e0 ceux class\u00e9s comme S\u00fbrs, les <strong>personnes du groupe \u00c0 risque ont \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9es 4&nbsp;fois plus souvent (4&nbsp;% contre 16&nbsp;%) et gravement bless\u00e9es (\u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA) 11&nbsp;fois plus souvent<\/strong>. De plus, dans notre \u00e9chantillon, pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 (43&nbsp;%) des blessures \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA impliquaient des personnes du groupe \u00c0 risque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que les incidents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 n&rsquo;entra\u00eenent pas toujours des blessures (par exemple, des accidents \u00e9vit\u00e9s de justesse) ou des blessures suffisamment graves pour \u00eatre consign\u00e9es aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA, nous avons examin\u00e9 de plus pr\u00e8s les blessures et les incidents graves dans chaque cat\u00e9gorie du Safety<em>DNA<\/em>. Lorsqu&rsquo;une personne de la cat\u00e9gorie \u00c0 risque \u00e9tait impliqu\u00e9e dans un incident de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, 46&nbsp;% du temps, cela entra\u00eenait une blessure grave. Cela se compare \u00e0 28&nbsp;% pour la cat\u00e9gorie \u00c0 surveiller pour conformit\u00e9 et \u00e0 4&nbsp;% pour la cat\u00e9gorie S\u00fbr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce sont des r\u00e9sultats francs et statistiquement significatifs. Les personnes participant \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude ont travaill\u00e9 c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te dans un large \u00e9ventail de postes, effectuant des travaux similaires, avec les m\u00eames superviseurs. \u000bPourtant, les personnes identifi\u00e9es dans la cat\u00e9gorie \u00c0 risque par l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation Safety<em>DNA<\/em> \u00e9taient 11&nbsp;fois plus susceptibles d&rsquo;\u00eatre impliqu\u00e9es dans des incidents entra\u00eenant des blessures \u00e0 consigner aupr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;OSHA.
