The paper includes advice for organizations on how to create a fair assessment process that supports neurodiversity in an organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an era when diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are central themes, research is important to further promote and understand <a href=\"\/en\/blog\/how-to-support-neurodiversity-in-the-workplace\/\">how to support neurodiversity in the workplace<\/a>. Neurodiversity recognizes and celebrates natural variations in human neurology and is gaining momentum as a critical aspect of fostering a more inclusive workforce. However, despite these advancements, uncertainty remains \u2013 especially in recruitment and hiring best practices to create fair processes for neurodiverse candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talogy\u2019s latest research involved over 3,000 neurodiverse individuals completing a <a href=\"\/en\/talent-management-solutions\/assessments\/dilemmas-situational-judgement-tests\/\">situational judgement test (SJT)<\/a>. Key results reveal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hardly any differences in performance between neurodivergent and neurotypical candidates in bespoke SJTs used in a large-scale recruitment process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear and open communication during the recruitment process is crucial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A one-size-fits-all approach does not work for assessing neurodiverse talent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modifications do not have to be substantial or expensive. Small changes can have a big impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ali Shalfrooshan, Head of International Assessment R&amp;D at Talogy, says, \u201cNeurodivergent conditions, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, are part of normal human variation, impacting how individuals think, learn, and process information. However, research indicates a significant disparity in employment rates for neurodivergent adults. This disparity calls for urgent action to create a more inclusive workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognizing the need for inclusivity, major corporations, including SAP, Virgin, and Microsoft, have already taken steps to implement targeted inclusion initiatives with great success. Substantial evidence has emerged, demonstrating both social and commercial advantages in having a neurodiverse workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By embracing neurodiversity, organizations can tap into a wide range of talents, perspectives, and problem-solving approaches that may not be present in a neurotypical workforce. This can lead to increased innovation, productivity, and improved decision-making.
