East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST), one of the organizations within the United Kingdom’s publicly funded National Health Service (NHS), partnered with Talogy to build a sustainable internal coaching capability. Through the creation of a Coaching Academy and the accreditation of 36 internal coaches, EEAST equipped its people to support leadership development, employee well-being, and professional growth across its geographically dispersed frontline workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many healthcare organizations around the world, EEAST operates in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where leaders must support employee performance while maintaining exceptional patient care. The organization wanted to create greater consistency in coaching practices, expand its internal coaching capability, and establish the governance needed to build a sustainable coaching culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Talogy’s Coaching with Emotional Intelligence program, EEAST is developing a network of accredited coaches and laying the foundation for a high-quality Coaching Academy that can support colleagues across the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EEAST provides emergency ambulance and urgent care services across a large geographic region, with teams working in demanding, time-critical healthcare environments. Many leaders and specialists already incorporated coaching<\/a> into mentoring, facilitation, clinical supervision, community first responder support, and team development.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the organization continued investing in leadership capability and employee well-being, it identified three priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Consistency and confidence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Move from varying coaching approaches to a shared, professional standard of coaching practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Capacity and reach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Build a sustainable network of accredited internal coaches capable of supporting employees across multiple locations, departments, and work schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Culture and quality<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Establish a Coaching Academy with clear governance, supervision, and measurement to ensure coaching remains safe, ethical, and high impact within a healthcare environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve these goals, EEAST wanted to provide three cohorts of 36 participants with the opportunity to earn a recognized coaching accreditation while establishing the foundation for an organization-wide Coaching Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
