With a growing workforce of over 8900 employees, PDO aspires to cultivate a culture of coaching and feedback across different levels, developing a resilient, adaptable and effective workforce that can lead the organisation towards a brighter future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support this vision, PDO initiated a strategic project to optimise internal coaching processes and expertise, aligned to their unique organisational needs and challenges. The project had two key goals: to develop a strong pool of trained internal coaches, and to roll out a \u2018Leaders as Coach\u2019 programme at scale. PDO chose to partner with Talogy because of Talogy\u2019s rich experience and outstanding expertise in enterprise coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-center has-border-color has-primary-500-border-color is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-14a98bec wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-width:2px;border-radius:18px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-container-core-column-is-layout-9f7ebb90 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;flex-basis:100%\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote talogy-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow is-style-large--1\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We want to create a climate where employees learn how to give and receive feedback, support and stretch a colleague\u2019s thinking, and drive performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"talogy-quote_author wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Faiza Rahmatullah<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"talogy-quote_author-title has-secondary-500-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fb1083b0bf6bf5efd492b7f1f34c6e3e wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">People Director at PDO<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step one: Building an accredited internal coaching pool<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This first step aimed to elevate PDO&#8217;s internal coaching capabilities by offering two distinct courses for accreditation, recognised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/certifiedcoach.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Association for Coaching<\/a>: \u2019Foundation Executive Coach\u2019 and \u2018Executive Coach\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aiming to stay away from a one-size-fits-all approach, both programmes were specifically designed by Talogy to align with PDO&#8217;s culture and objectives. A total of 24 initial participants &nbsp;underwent one of the two one-year instructor-led coaching courses, which focused on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tailored curriculum:<\/strong> The courses consisted of customised modules, focused on the nuances of leadership within the energy sector and PDO&#8217;s specifically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Real-world application:<\/strong> Participants were encouraged to practice in real work situations within the organisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ongoing assessment and feedback:<\/strong> Regular evaluations ensured that the coaches were meeting the high standards set by the Association for Coaching, Talogy, and PDO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commitment:<\/strong> Each internal coach committed 250<strong>+<\/strong> hours of internal coaching, <strong>80+<\/strong> hours of self-directed learning, <strong>40+ <\/strong>hours of group-based training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step two: Rolling out the \u2018Leaders as Coach\u2019 program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the success of the coaching accreditation programme and the positive feedback from the participants, PDO invited Talogy back to be their ongoing <strong>learning partner<\/strong> in spearheading their strategic coaching initiatives to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talogy designed a custom PDO &#8216;Leader as Coach\u2019 course, that has already impacted over 100 leaders initially. This transformative three-day course, recognised by the Association for Coaching, teaches PDO leaders:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In-depth questioning techniques:<\/strong> Leaders learned how to ask the right questions to stimulate thought and inspire solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The importance of psychological safety:<\/strong> Leaders learned the importance of creating a safe space for open dialogue and innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Coaching in practice:<\/strong> Leaders engaged in real-world coaching scenarios, receiving immediate feedback from Talogy experts to refine their skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The value of becoming peer coaching:<\/strong> The post-course work encouraged leaders to become peer-coaches, thereby expanding the support beyond traditional mentorship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure the effective transfer of skills internally and make the benefits of this programme more accessible to every leader in PDO, Talogy then designed and implemented a Train-the-trainer programme for experienced internal coaches to deliver the three-day program with a high quality. It enabled the further development of the leadership through a sustainable internal delivery practice, allowing for more targeted sessions across the organisation. The programme operates on a recurring basis every year, continuing to empower the coaching strategy of PDO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PDO now proudly boasts an internal pool of <strong>39 certified coaches<\/strong>, fully equipped to provide 1-on-1 tailored leadership development journeys to employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Five PDO professional coaches are certified to deliver the three-day Leader As Coach program to a high standard of excellence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By the end of 2024, almost 200 leaders will have been trained and past their certification in essential coaching skills through the Leader as Coach programme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100% of the leaders surveyed said they would recommend the programme to their colleagues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The project won the <strong>CIPD Middle East People Awards <\/strong>in the category of \u201c<strong>Best Coaching &amp; Mentoring Initiative<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-center has-border-color has-primary-500-border-color is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-14a98bec wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-width:2px;border-radius:18px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-container-core-column-is-layout-9f7ebb90 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;flex-basis:100%\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote talogy-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow is-style-large--2\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can&#8217;t speak highly enough about the outstanding service and support we&#8217;ve received from Talogy!
