world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Challenges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>M&amp;S prides itself on being an inclusive employer. In support of this they had historically provided an \u2018Inspiring Women\u2019 programme to accelerate careers and increase the representation of women leaders within the organisation. In 2019 they built on the success of this programme to design a programme that increased the representation of both women and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) colleagues in senior management positions. It allowed me to be more reflective as a leader and self aware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"talogy-quote_author has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7ea3f4ae7a16c600a14dfd094e1d141a\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Programme Participant<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Breakthrough Leaders programme consisted of 3 topics: Leader with Emotional Intelligence, Leader of Self and Inclusive Leader, with each element provided by different suppliers. Talogy worked with the programme owner to design and deliver the Leader with Emotional Intelligence component, a 1.5 day interactive workshop preceded by our diagnostics: Emotional Intelligence Profile 3 and Leadership Climate Indicator 360. This workshop built on content already being delivered in other talent programmes across the organisation and so helped create a common language and understanding of the importance and impact of emotionally intelligent leadership. We also provided four one hour sessions of one-on-one coaching for each delegate over the duration of the programme to enable them to explore their learning and integrate it into their leadership. The workshop and subsequent coaching centred around:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the importance of self-regard for understanding limiting personal beliefs and working with feedback, projection and bias of others<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>regard for others as basis for inclusive leadership<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the programme, the Emotional Intelligence diagnostic was retaken to identify \u201cdistance travelled\u201d and support final coaching sessions and action planning to continue to embed learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-center has-border-color has-primary-500-border-color has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-54b4283f193f4c8b60f32095b50a474a is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-0689879a wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-width:2px;border-radius:18px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-container-core-column-is-layout-470e7e12 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;flex-basis:100%\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote talogy-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow is-style-large--2\">\n<p class=\"has-teal-500-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-86f6ba07146e68beecd174cf18776084\">I think these 1-2-1 sessions really helped in driving action and understanding some of the course material better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"talogy-quote_author has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-87c4695bf74b8edb6f742f7276c74f05\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Program Participant<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over half of the cohort have changed jobs within the organisation since the programme began, with around 50% of those moves into larger roles with greater responsibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retake on the Emotional Intelligence Profile at the end of the programme shows an average increase of 16% across all measured scales in the whole population. This is demonstrated by a noticeable increase in participants\u2019 self awareness, confidence and belief in themselves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a survey conducted at the end of the programme, participants: <strong>a)<\/strong> describe themselves as more aware of how to get more out of their teams and themselves; <strong>b)<\/strong> understand how they are now enabled to use their new skills and knowledge productively day to day; <strong>c)<\/strong> are taking more time to be more strategic in their leadership, stepping out of the detail to empower their teams and sharing learning from the programme with their teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-center has-border-color has-primary-500-border-color has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a45f3e3656b3c7f0d820c4905fb7e22a is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-0689879a wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-width:2px;border-radius:18px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-container-core-column-is-layout-470e7e12 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;flex-basis:100%\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote talogy-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow is-style-large--3\">\n<p class=\"has-teal-500-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9bc3b93b7cf852574ce4ed4914d38dbb\">Sophie Seex and Sally Tanski from Talogy have been excellent to work with on this programme.
